Non-Summer Group Courses
Our Non-Summer Group Courses are a popular choice for schools, colleges, companies, and other organisations looking for short-term English language programmes outside the summer season.
Courses are available from September to June, with durations from 1 to 12 weeks and a flexible choice of 15 to 35 hours of lessons per week in closed group classes. Lessons can focus on General English, Specialised English, or a combination of both, tailored to your group’s needs and goals.
We welcome groups of students aged 10 and above for residential accommodation, and 12 and above for homestay. There is no upper age limit.
The usual minimum group size is 12 students, though we can accept smaller groups (please note this may increase the cost per student).
Accommodation options include:
- Homestay with our carefully selected host families.
- Residential English classes in Kent.
Groups can also choose to include a customised programme of activities and excursions, from sports and local cultural experiences to half-day, full-day, and multi-day trips.
Standard courses and pricing are outlined in our Price List, but we strongly recommend contacting us directly to discuss your group’s specific needs. We’ll be happy to provide a tailored course proposal and a detailed quotation.
Non-Summer Groups Teaching
At Churchill House, our goal is to help every student make real progress towards their language goals by delivering high-quality English teaching in a supportive, engaging, and professional environment.
Our courses focus on building confidence, fluency, and communication skills through interactive, student-centred lessons. Classes are taught in small groups, ensuring personalised attention and support from our experienced and enthusiastic teachers.
We use a communicative teaching approach, with carefully structured syllabuses that can be tailored to your group’s specific needs. Lessons are active and varied, using a mix of modern teaching methods, authentic materials, and multimedia resources delivered via interactive whiteboards.
Course content often includes project-based tasks such as creating group magazines, preparing excursion-related activities, performing sketches, or developing product pitches—encouraging creativity, collaboration, and practical use of English.
Before arrival, students complete an online placement test to ensure they are placed in the right level. At the end of the course, all students receive a written progress report and a certificate of completion.
We are happy to design bespoke courses on request, including options such as exam preparation, business English, or English for travel and tourism. Combined with our wide range of social activities, this approach ensures students continue learning—and enjoying English—long after their course has ended.
